This event is the Oscars of wildlife photography. Every year the event attracts the very best entrants from around the world, and for their 50th anniversary year the event was to be hosted by Sir David Attenborough and the Duchess of Cambridge. TWPOTY organisers asked us to record this prestigious event to help encourage future entrants.
How We Did It
On the night of the event we had 3 cameras in operation; two statics and one on a jib arm sweeping over the heads of the audience. Before the event we mingled with the glitterati getting enthusiastic sound bites and interviews. The film culminates in shots of the photographers seeing their works displayed in the exhibition for the very first time. For many who’d spent years waiting for the perfect moment to press the shutter this was an emotional moment.
We produced a series of videos to promote the event, the exhibition and the academy for young photographers.
A video that captures the emotion and excitement at the heart of the most prestigious wildlife photography awards of the year. This film won us a prestigious Videographer award, which you can read more about in our blog.
I’m really thrilled with the results and confident that they will have a great impact on the competition.
