Gericke Rotaval, is a leading rotary valve and diverter valve manufacturing company, based in Wiltshire. It also happens to be run by a woman, Beverly Ford. Beverly contacted Skylark as she wanted a series of high-quality videos for pitches, trade shows and to boost their online presence. She also wanted a video that would give a personal insight into the company, discussing her own experience as a woman in engineering as well as the unique apprenticeships Gericke Rotaval offers to young people keen to pursue a career in engineering.
There’s no better way to create a truly personal video than with an intimate interview. Combined with footage of Beverley in various scenarios interacting with her team we set out to paint a genuine picture of her working life.
How We Did It
We spent a busy day at the Gericke Rotaval factory filming in a wide range of styles for their video series: stunning slow-motion for the company promo, white-screen mobile studio for their product demo videos, documentary-style footage of Beverley and her skilled engineers in action, and an informal interview with the Managing Director on the factory floor.
Having been set well at ease by the Skylark team, Beverley gave a candid and engaging interview, sharing her insights on how to engage young people, encourage women in ‘a man’s world’ and the important role of the engineering industry within the UK economy. The final video not only serves as a great introduction to Gericke Rotaval, but will be a great recruitment tool for the future.
