The flurry of snow got us all a bit excited this week – but for those experiencing housing insecurity, this is a time of dread.
Maybe their home is cold and damp. Maybe they’ve just been evicted. Maybe they’re already homeless. but receiving specialist housing advice and support can change people’s lives – and Housing Matters is the only Bristol charity providing it.
One of our directors Elle Dimond recently created a film, ‘A Place To Call Home‘ for the charity, alongside a talented crew including our Head of Production, Amy. It’s now up for a Smiley Charity Film Award.
“Working with Housing Matters taught me a lot about the term homelessness, how many people it affects and how easy it can be a reality to anyone. Suddenly families, couples or individuals are finding themselves without a home. It spoke to the vulnerability of everyday moments that happen in a safe and secure environment and how easily it can change,” says Elle.
